Work Skills Development Programme:

In March 2009 we initiated a skills development pilot project where 10 members were chosen to participate. The focus of the project was to teach the members various craft skills which they could use as a income generating tool.

The modules were run by outside craft teachers and the members completed an oral and practical test at the end of each module. The modules included mosaic art; decoupage; glass painting; beadwork, soap-making and candle making.

In September the members will revise all the modules and participate in a prize giving at the end of September. We have started sell the products made at various craft market and will shortly be opening our own shop on the Headway premises.

It has been an exciting project that has been sponsored by Victor Daitz and it has been an excellent opportunity to develop the members’ skills
